For less than local motels, you get a whole house that sleeps up to 6 adults! Why rent a single room when for the same money, you can get a whole house! The area is known for its beauty in every season. Skiing and tubing at Sapphire Mountain is about 45 minutes and the slopes in Maggie Valley are about an hour. Harrahs has opened the Valley River Casino only 3 miles away! Fishing and boating are close. White water rafting is available in the Nantahala and Ocoee basins (both less than 45 minutes). So are TVA dams, gold panning and gem mining. If you are looking for some 4 wheeling fun, a great biker run, the best mountain biking trails in the East or just some simple R&R, this is THE place. Look now and reserve your special time.

This is a fully furnished vacation cabin, all you need to bring is food, clothes and your personal items. There is a King & Twin bedroom (2 twin beds) and 2 full size bathrooms, plus a Queen Sleeper Sofa. Rates are good for parties of 1 through 6.

Our cabin is centrally located to many local Western North Carolina mountain ranges, lakes, streams, rivers, 4x4, biking and hiking trails and surrounding wilderness areas. You could not ask for a better place to relax, or to have some fun.
Our Mountain Cabin is easy to reach and simple to locate, unlike many cabins in the area. Valley River Retreat is located only 5 miles east of Murphy, NC, in the Western North Carolina Mountains and about 95 miles northeast of Atlanta, southeast of Chattanooga or southwest of Asheville.
Amenities: Just because you come to the mountains doesn't mean you have to rough it, or give up some comforts. You are here to relax and have some fun. The cabin has all the modern conveniences & furnishings of a typical home: central heating and A/C, fully equipped modern kitchen with dishes, utensils and cooking items, washer and dryer, Flat Screen TV with Satellite (+ local channels) and a DVD player with surround sound. Get cozy with the remote controlled gas fireplace. You also have a computer with high speed DSL and WiFi. This cabin has a wrap around deck, a private covered deck area accessible through the master bedroom's french doors, rockers and chairs and grill. Volume ceilings in every room and skylights in the master bedroom and second bath let in light all day long.

Activities (within 30-45 minutes or less): Western North Carolina Mountains, several bike and hiking trails areas. The new Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino is 3 miles away to add some excitement to your life! The Smokey National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, other scenic parkways, national parks and Franklin NC (gem mining) are within 60 minutes. Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) for Intermediate White Water Rapids (family level), Andrews, NC., Smokey Mountain Railroad, TN State Line. Tsali biking trails, TVA dams and recreation lakes. Fishing, boating, 2 major mountain ranges for backpacking and hiking, large weekend Flea Markets, dozens of Antique shops, and more than a dozen good restaurants. Cherokee NC, and Maggie Valley ski area is about 60 miles. NOTE ~ There is a new Cherokee Casino now open in Murphy! Many local hunting and fishing locations (State license required). 2 to 7 or however long stays are available. This is a non-smoking and although we love our pets, a pet free cabin. We do on occasion offer 2 night - all inclusive stays. Normal spring and summer rentals for 3 days start at 5.00 plus taxes, refundable security and a cleaning fee.
