The difference is that you will be assured of an OCEAN VIEW room (vs. Mountain View) because you are the owner's guest in a specific category of unit at this resort.  Exchange Certificates do not guarantee a view--don't be disappointed on your valuable vacation!  This view is amazing.  Large ocean-facing balcony on which to have breakfast!

The Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club Resort is a comfortable and convenient oceanfront property located about 15 minutes to the west of the airport.  As you can see from the pictures, it is situated on an incredible collection of lagoons, making for safe and beautiful ocean play.  Just down from the Disney Aulani (Disney picked this location for its largest resort in the world) and the amazing Four Seasons.  Adjacent to the Ko Olina Marina where all sorts of water fun can be had--dolphin and snorkel swimming, sailing and deep-sea fishing charters.  The Ko Olina Golf Club, site of LPGA tournaments, is just across the street, housing Roy's as its premier restaurant.
You'll be in your 1200sf+ fully equipped 2 bedroom unit before you know it after leaving HNL and the world behind!  There are 2 private bathrooms, king bed in master and queen (or 2 doubles) in guest room with sofa-sleepers in guest room and living room.  Cribs and high chairs available upon request.  Fully stocked kitchen, large dining table for all, in-suite full-size laundry and numerous outdoor BBQ's provide money-saving convenience and luxury.

Mid-week Polynesian Luau just a free shuttle ride away (they bus people in from Honolulu for this one)
If you are reluctant about Oahu, think again!  Is Waikiki "been-there-done-that" for you?  Then this is the place to come.  Cheap airfare to HNL and Honolulu is a 30 minute freeway drive if you can't help it.  Easy access to North Shore (big surf), lovely Kailua and Hanauma Bay (popular snorkeling) on the east shore, Pearl Harbor and cross island to the Polynesian Cultural center, none of which are near Waikiki anyway.
About 10 minutes away is the town of Kapolei which has attracted all sorts of shopping and support services:  Costco, Walmart, SuperK, great restaurants and movie theaters.
