These were sent to media outlets for promotional purposes, to be used by writers doing reviews or features about the films, and were not sold at retail stores. The discs include still images from the movie on a CD-ROM, which is not a DVD. Press kits do NOT include the movie itself.

This is the Digital Press Kit for the 2002 fantasy epic movie "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers"  directed by Peter Jackson and starring Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett.  It includes CD-ROM, a fancy parchment-style paper invite to 2002 All-Media screening in Los Angeles. The two-disc CD-ROM includes photography on one disc and special materials on the other. Please note that due to the age of the CD-ROMs, the discs may not play on modern computers with modern software, so keep that in mind while bidding on this auction.  There is also a 9"x12" envelope in which they originally arrived. There is some writing on the envelope and the address has been removed.
