These were sent to media outlets for promotional purposes, to be used by writers doing reviews or features about the films, and were not sold at retail stores.
This auction is for a large (11 inches wide by 8.5 inches tall) 64-page full-color squarebound booklet sent out by the movie studio to promote the 2004 Jim Carrey movie "Lemony Snicket A Series of Unfortunate Events." The book is full of full-color and black-and-white images from the film and the film. The actual title, on the first page of the book, is "The World of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: Notations and Recollections by Brad Silberling" (the director). Includes images of Silberling and stars Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep, Emily Browning, Liam Aiken and more, with text about the making of the movie.
Condition:
The most significant flaw is that the 3.25-inch-wide band that goes around the book (it has the movie's title logo printed at the center) is made of a fragile rice-paper-type stock that has some splits at the edges, a 1.5-inch tear near the center around back, and some creases/impressions. Ouch. The book itself has some light "rubbing" on the covers, and impressions on the covers and all interior pages -- the kind of impressions you get when a not-careful reader is holding a book in a way that creates "finger bend" impressions throughout. Ouch. Don't get me wrong, the book isn't a crumpled disaster -- but just be aware that the cover and the pages have that "not perfectly smooth" flaw.
