Description

Up for auction is a Fox model 300 professional full conservatory resin oboe with left hand F, third octave key and low Bb key.  All keys move freely and the pads are in good condition.
This oboe has minor scratches throughout from normal use and the lightly tarnished keys have minimal plating wear, with approximately 99% of the plating intact. There are no cracks present or repaired and no bore issues exist. Fox oboes are quickly gaining the same stellar reputation as Fox bassoons. Outstanding craftsmanship and meticulous care make Fox oboes the choice of students, teachers, and professionals alike. The Fox 300 features the same key work and bore design as the model 400 granadilla wood oboe, but with a body built of durable resin plastic

The serial number is in the 22,xxx range, which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 2005. This oboe plays fine now, but as with most double reed instruments, a minor adjustment may be needed upon arrival and for personal preference. Included is a gently used wood shell oboe case, a Fox cork grease container and a used reed case.

Nickel silver keys with 18% nickel silver hinge tubing and heavy silver plating.
