The key first step to any bio-active set up or gecko tank! Start your terrarium off right with a booming culture of tropical white springtails to eat any mold that might rear its fuzzy presence and powder orange isopods to clean the rest! You can add them all to a 10 gallon terrarium to establish it quickly, or add half - and culture half so you'll have cleaners and feeders (yes, they work as feeders too) for all your enclosures!
Shop with confidence from the very same invertebrates supplied to stores, rescues and zoos!
Porcellionides pruinosus or Powder Orange isopods, are a hardy species that reproduces quickly once established. Powder oranges are especially fond of feces from numerous animal species. Add them to a terrarium to consume messes that you would rather not clean. In gecko tanks - rinse solid matter off walls and into the substrate with a sprayer and the isopods will do the rest! These isopods are large (for cleaners), active, colorful and extremely fast! They look peach when immature and become a beautiful powdery orange color in adulthood (hence the name!)
